Dream Journal #1

I was on a small Pacific island living as a primitive person in his 20’s. Me and my friends were on the shore beneath the shade of a tree when the ground suddenly rumbled. Before we knew it, the volcano at the center of the island erupted.

Volcanic boulders fell from the sky or rolled all around us, crushing everything in its path. Villagers and livestock died as the volcano unleashed its fury. The smoke was so thick that it blocked the sun making everything dark and hard to breathe. The land undulated, toppling trees and people alike.

Unfortunately, one of those big boulder landed on me, and crushed me to death.

Unbeknownst to us, there was a more advanced civilization at the other side of the volcanic island. They had square houses made from mud. They had proper cobblestone streets. Rocks from the volcano also fell on their side.

On that side, I was an old man that lived alone in a room in an apartment row that was on a slightly inclined street. There was a length of a wall facing us on the other side of that street.

People shouted as the rocks fell and crushed lives and houses. Unlike the primitive side, our side of the sky was kind of a clear afternoon-turning-dusk. I shut my door and barricaded it, and huddled in the corner of my room that was right across the door.

The scariest part, however, was the storm that suddenly appeared. The wind peaked and was so strong I thought it would pick up entire blocks. The lightning was so severe that I could see it even though my eyes were closed. Even more frightening was the deafening thunder that felt it was just beside me. Even the rain was too much.

I knew that the strong storm was headed to the volcano, one natural disaster against another. I opened my eyes to look out the window and saw cataclysm.

And then I woke up.

Interpretation

Volcano

A volcano in your dream is a sign of bottled-up emotions. An eruption means you’re about to lose control, potentially hurting yourself or others. A dormant volcano suggests you’ve dealt with past emotional turmoil.

Island

Dreaming of an island is all about needing a break. It can mean you crave relaxation and escape from daily stress, or a deeper desire for solitude. On the other hand, being stranded on an island suggests you might be avoiding problems instead of facing them, or feeling isolated and stuck in your current situation.

Storm

Dreams of storms can be both positive and negative. They often represent difficulties in your waking life, like struggles or hidden emotions. But they can also signal positive change and spiritual growth. If you dream of finding shelter from a storm, that suggests you have the strength to overcome challenges.

Death

Dreaming about your own death is symbolic. It usually means positive changes and personal growth are coming. You’re leaving the past behind and starting fresh. However, it can also reflect negative things like unhealthy situations or a desire to escape problems.

Destruction

Dreaming of mass destruction reflects a feeling of chaos in your waking life. Things might be out of control, or your choices could be leading you down a negative path.

Fear

Dreaming of feeling fear suggests anxieties holding you back from reaching your full potential. Tackling these anxieties openly with others can help you overcome them and achieve.
